NaNo

Well, I did it. I wrote over 100,000 words in one month.
And not one word of it is going to be submitted to a
publisher. Anyway, that's the plan. :)

I'm glad to have my hobby back. Trying to make writing
pay seemed to add too much stress. For now, I am
just glad to have my hobby back.

Will I never submit a story again? Of course I will! I
just need to find new ways to think about it, so I don't
stress over editors and editing and submitting and
trying to make money at this thing I happen to love doing.

Now if I can just get the site to validate what I wrote...
Then again, it probably shouldn't matter. I know I did it.
That's all that should matter.

amazing! What I did on my nano:
1. wrote about 9000 words.
2. threw them out.
3. got some books on outlining and plotting
4. learned something Important I didn't know before
5. outlined and wrote out what my 10 major scenes will be, plus all the scenes in 'Act 1' of my novel.

Even though I got nowhere near winning Nano, I felt like I made major progress....

Congrats, maybe one of these days I'll give NaNo a go too. I can relate to your comments about the stress of trying to make writing pay. I've given up on that route at the moment too, (probably forever...)

But I do enjoy writing as an end in itself, as long as I know someone will actually read it one day.

Peter
